Thought About A Body Scan?

November 23, 2024

What is the Evolt 360 Body Scan, and how does it work?
The Evolt 360 Body Scan is a non-invasive, quick, and highly accurate way to measure your body composition. It uses bioelectrical impedance to assess muscle mass, fat mass, hydration levels, and more.

What information does the scan provide?
The scan provides detailed insights into your body composition, including:

    • Body fat percentage
    • Lean muscle mass
    • Visceral fat levels
    • Hydration status
    • Basal metabolic rate (calories burned at rest)
    • Segmental analysis (muscle and fat distribution in arms, legs, and torso)

How will a body scan help me achieve my fitness goals?
By understanding your body composition, you can create a targeted fitness plan that helps you

    • Monitor progress over time
    • Build muscle
    • Reduce fat

It provides insights beyond what a regular scale can show, making your training and nutrition more effective.

Why is a body scan better than using a regular scale?
A regular scale only shows your total weight, which doesn’t differentiate between muscle, fat, and water. The Evolt Body Scan gives a complete breakdown, so you can focus on the metrics that truly matter to your health and fitness.

Do I need to prepare for the scan?

Yes. For the most accurate results:

    • Scan at the same time of the day
    • Preferably do not scan after training
    • Keep your hydration and food volume the same
    • Do not consume alcohol within 24-48 hours prior to your scan
    • Do not consume caffeine or caffeine products such a pre-workouts or other thermogenic acids or diuretic products
    • Ensure you are well hydrated.
    • If you are female, take note of where you are in your menstrual cycle for consistency of readings
    • Ensure you have fasted for at least 3-4 hours prior to the scan (Food in the stomach will be interpreted as fat mass)
    • Wear light, fitted clothing like activewear. Bare feet are required for the scan, so avoid socks and shoes.

How long does the scan take?
The scan itself takes less than 60 seconds.

What should I wear during the scan?
Wear light, fitted clothing like activewear. Bare feet are required for the scan, so avoid socks and shoes.

How do I interpret the results?
After your scan, you’ll receive a detailed report, with a key chart to help. By appointment a coach can help explain the key metrics, such as body fat percentage, muscle mass, and hydration levels, and how they relate to your goals, and what adjustments would be optimal.

How often should I get a scan to track progress?
We recommend getting a scan every 4 weeks to monitor changes in your body composition and adjust your training or nutrition plan as needed.

Is the scan safe for everyone?

The scan is safe for most people, but it may not be suitable for individuals with pacemakers, other medical implants, or during pregnancy. If you’re unsure, consult your doctor before booking.
